Magnets on oil filter?

Hi, everyone.

Has anyone tried this trick? Is it worth the (small amount of) trouble?

This.. I'd sooner want to keep it in the oilpan and not clog up your screen or send it through your oil pump. Also, magnets will only help with ferrite(iron) particles.

Not worthwhile. Anything will be caught by the filter media.

If you already have the magnets, then go for it. But I wouldn't go out and buy some.
