For those that may not follow British Road Racing, here is a link to Michael Dunlop's record breaking lap of the Mountain Course at the IOM on the weekend. Average speed of 133.4 MPH (215kph). MotoGP riders are excellent, these guys are at another level.

Sit back and enjoy the 37 Mile lap.

BTW, they call what we do closed or short course racing. Now you see why; we have 12 corners, 12 braking markers and 12 apexes to remember (in 1.7 miles at Castrol), British road racers have 37 MILES of track to remember.

Everyone go on Netflix and watch "Road" if you want to know who Michael Dunlop is.

Yikes, Don't know who Michael (or Joey, Robert and William) is?? Part of the next generation of the Dunlop Irish Road Racing Dynasty.

These are Michael and William...

Why is there nothing like the TT, Northwest 200, Ulster GP, etc here in Canada? Figure somebody here knows of somebody that tried to get something going.

Hi Scott,

The reason that there is no road racing in other parts of the world is because there are no statutes in place enabling the shutting down of public roadways to allow racing on them. Ireland and the UK had the foresight to legislate road closures for racing at the turn of the century. In most cases, the existing road courses are 'shrinking' in length due to public pressure....so....won't happen here. It would also take generations to get racers used to the concept of racing on actual roads...
