Lost my rear cylinder.

Today I was dong my maintenance. Made sure there was no debris in the filter or airbox. Pulled the clutch & inspected the plates & hub for wear. Everything good.

Fired her up & let it warm up until it was up to 60C. Wrapped the throttle a few times. Crisp responce, she sounded good.

About 2 hrs later I hooked up my laptop to the Nemesis ECU. I was going to see if I could increase the engine idle RPM.

She started, but was running ruff. Very littel heat being generated from the rear exhaust manifold. Ran it from about a minute & I could still grab it with my hand.

I checked for spark. Its good. I checked compression. its between 160 - 175 PSI ish(its a cheap Comp tester. I know its off about 10% at 120 PSI)
I checked the Injector. Its still spraying. I changed back to the OEM ECM. I still cannot get the rear cylinder to fired.

wtf. Anyone with any ideas?

TIA

E "F" ing gads. It was the spark plug. I pulled it again. Fired it with the original plug in lead. Sparked every time. Just for shit sakes I put in another plug. A crappy old champion form my old S4RS. Fired the bike & it runs. WTF. Oh well, I am not complaining. Quite happy. Was fricken pissed this afternoon when it was + 27C.

John,
Now I can swoop in like an expert since you have already solved it::cool:

"sounds like a spark plug problem to me. have you thought about trying a different plug?"

Seriously though, talking with S/C here in Calgary, it is a common occurance for a brand new plug to not work.

John,
We don't need you getting any faster. Haven't you heard all the buzz about those "super singles"??? You could have the best one out there! I already machined up a spark plug filler plug for you!
